Know-how
Steeped in history, the private mansion house on 1-3 rue de Caumartin, in Paris' 9th arrondissement, was built in the 18th century by the architect André Aubert.
It was owned by Charles Marin de la Haye, and Mirabeau lived there in 1789. Back then, the building had a hanging garden on its roof, with shrubs, a water feature, rocks, a waterfall and statues, as well as columns and pyramids to conceal the chimneys.
Adorned with demirelief figures and medallions, its cut stone façade features an external rotunda, which is listed in France's inventory of historical monuments.
